Spread 2 of the short booklet entitled "LONG LIVE THE DONG" (pictures of the booklet will be uploaded in Scraps): Wrestlers.
A project exploring the visual language of sexualized male figures. In other words, men are rarely objectified in a way I'd like to see, and at best the frequency of those types of images is grossly lacking in comparison to images of sexualized women. I think all of deviantArt is a good example of this (protip: enter "nude" in the search field and you'll get what I mean).
It's a feminist art project and totally legitimate; I swear! Here, enjoy some pictures of sexy men (for a change).

Ink, colored pencils, felt pens, and watercolors all compiled in Photoshop (I think of them as analog layers!) with some minimal digital effects.
Your work with anatomy is always so freakin' awesome. I really love the turn of the figure, and the composition of the two bodies. Any new info on getting a large print of those pics btw?
Ahaha this made me smile ; ; The text is such a masterful touch fff. No seriously, I love how you write and it's just hilarious and awesome+gr8 artwork as usual.
What kind of paper do you do this stuff with anyway?
Ahhh thanks! What I meant by "analog layers" on Photoshop is that I drew inks on regular bristol paper, colored in pencils and pens etc on tracing paper over the drawing (the text was done the same way too), and scanned the tracing paper over Oatmeal color French Speckletone paper [link] and then I arrange the layers in Photoshop. Here or there I'd add subtle gradients, but I can say more than half of these are composed of real media.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
